Many of us have misaligned teeth or even an incorrect bite that has been untreated for years and this can have a detrimental impact on our health and wellbeing, both physically and emotionally.

It doesn’t matter at what age you choose to treat these misalignments, contrary to popular belief. Yes, it can be slightly easier and certainly more beneficial to straighten your teeth and correct your bite at a younger age, giving you more time to enjoy a healthier mouth. We are creating a positive change for adult patients in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond by using one of the many different aligners that are available.

If you are concerned or simply feeling a little less confident with your smile because you have misaligned teeth, then get in touch with a member of our professional team so that we can determine whether Invisalign in Chelsea is a suitable option for you. We will talk you through the advantages and disadvantages of the treatment as well as make a scan of your smile to see whether you are viable for the treatment. You are then invited to make a decision with all the facts in hand, allowing you to make a more informed choice regarding your oral health and emotional wellbeing.

Who might not be viable for this treatment?

Both teenagers and adults alike are able to have this treatment, however, if your misalignment is relatively severe, then we may not be able to use Invisalign in Chelsea effectively to straighten your smile. In these instances, traditional fixed devices are still the best option we have because we are able to have more control over the manipulation of your teeth, creating a more bespoke, reactive treatment plan that will work with your unique case.

However, if your misalignment is mild or even somewhat moderate and relatively common, then this treatment could very well be the perfect option. It combines effectiveness with convenience so that you can not only enjoy the results, but also the journey that it takes to get you there.

How long does the treatment take?

Invisalign in Chelsea is different for everyone and this includes the treatment time as well. On average, you will be expected to wear your aligners for about 18 to 24 months, however, some people wear their aligners for a much shorter period of time. We generally do not expect much longer than a couple of years of treatment.

In saying that, you will be expected to wear a retainer after your treatment has finished, which is a tray that holds your teeth in the same position, ensuring your commitment in time and money does not go to waste.

Teeth have a habit of shifting back to their original position if not held in place for a certain amount of time because the ligaments are slower to adjust to their new and correct position. You will not need to wear your aligners all the time, but we generally suggest that you wear them at night just to keep your teeth in the right position.
